Each year, the Air Force honors their most exceptional with one of the service’s highest accolades: being named as one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year. This year, the Airman chosen to represent Air Force District of Washington was one of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling’s own, U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Kade Forrester.

Air Force Memorial Temporary Holiday Closure

The Air Force Memorial, along with Arlington National Cemetery (ANC), announced today they will close public access to the Southern Expansion portion of Arlington National Cemetery, which includes access to the AF Memorial, on July 4th, 2022. The memorial will reopen to the public on July 5, 2022.

AFDW and SAF/AA “Fixes Our Computers” for the NCR

In the National Capital Region, the 844th Communications Group, under the direction of Air Force District of Washington and with the support of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force, provides IT services to over 18,000 users located across the Capital region, including the Pentagon, Joint-Base Anacostia-Bolling, and Joint-Base Andrews. A recent viral letter entitled “Fix Our Computers” implored the Air Force to invest more in modernizing its computers and networks -- and the 844 CG wants its users to know they have a plan in place to do just that.
