The United States Air Force Band performs during virtual holiday concert

The United States Air Force Band and its Singing Sergeants ensemble rehearse on Dec. 9, 2021 at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. for their first interactive, live streamed holiday performance, set for Dec. 10, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. EST. The Band will be joined during the performance by guests Broadway star Christopher Jackson and beatbox legend Christylez Bacon. The special virtual performance will allow for elementary and middle school students from all 50 states to tune in.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling hosts annual tree-lighting ceremony

If you didn't make it out to JBAB's annual tree lighting Dec. 3, you missed out on a great time! Pre-K students from the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling LEARN D.C. charter school sang some holiday songs and Santa Claus, Ms. Claus and several elves stopped by the event to take pictures with children and their families. JBAB and community volunteers help with holiday charitable food drive

A group of more than 50 volunteers made up of U.S. Airmen, Sailors, and base and local community volunteers joined forces to support the chapel and first sergeant’s holiday charitable food drive in the chapel at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., Nov. 19, 2021. Volunteers packed bags with frozen chickens and turkeys, pasta, apple cider, fresh vegetables, and canned foods and distributed them to military families on base. Volunteers also filled out greeting cards to share with veterans in local retirement homes.

JBAB contracting and comptroller squadrons close out unprecedented fiscal year

Every year in September, comptroller and contracting squadrons work long hours to close out the fiscal year with intention and precision. Fiscal years 2020 and 2021 were unique for the 11th Wing at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., as the Air Force transitioned to the service responsible for the joint installation.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling offers Reveille, Retreat, Taps courtesies guidance

As Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling continues to focus on Readiness, Partnerships, and Heritage, the base is bringing forward one additional initiative to focus on military heritage here on the installation. On weekdays, the base will continue to play the Reveille bugle call at 7 a.m. and “To The Color” and the national anthem at 5 p.m. Beginning Dec. 1, JBAB will play Taps at 9 p.m.

794th Communications Squadron continues infrastructure improvements

JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, Washington, D.C. – The 794th Communications Squadron has been working a massive upgrade to the communication infrastructure on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. The 794th CS was activated June 15, 2020, to support the standup of the 11th Wing on JBAB as the wing prepared to take on responsibility as the host unit to the installation in the Department of Defense’s first-ever joint base service lead transfer.
