Lead the Way: Engineers restore power to JBAB

Civil engineers from the 11th Civil Engineer Squadron, 316th Civil Engineer Squadron and civilian contractors worked continuously for over 20 hours to restore power to multiple entities on JBAB after an unexpected power outage.

Employee-vehicle Certification and Reporting System

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling will begin participation in the Air Force Vehicle Self-Certification Program designed to demonstrate compliance with 42 USC 7418 Control of Pollution from Federal Facilities, the Clean Air Act Section 118(d) which governs emission from personally owned vehicles driven on Federal Installations, and AFMAN 32-7002 Environmental Compliance and Pollution Prevention, Para. 4.5.3. The program requires all military and government civilian personnel to certify compliance for their personally owned vehicles (POVs). The attached memorandum and information packet provides full details on how to fulfill this requirement.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling proudly honors the nation’s military heritage by continuing the long-standing traditions of Reveille, Retreat, and Taps. As a reminder, on weekdays, JBAB plays the Reveille bugle call at 7 a.m., “To The Color” and the national anthem at 5 p.m., and Taps at 9 p.m.

The U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team competed alongside the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard drill teams to continue the tradition of friendly competition between services.

As proof of increased readiness, JBAB completed its first large-scale Personnel Deployment Function on March 30, 2023.

FCC program increases JBAB child care

Quality care is important to any developing child, and military children are no exception. To help combat limited on-base child care, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling has opened the Family Child Care program. FCC providers care for children in the provider’s home, which increases child care capacity for the JBAB community while simultaneously creating work-from-home employment opportunities.
