JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, Washington, D.C. - U.S. Army Maj. Mark T. Anderson, commander of the Naval Support Facility- Thurmont special missions command, coins and congratulates U.S. Army Sgt. Harly D. Gomme, White House Communications Agency satellite communications systems operator, after Gomme’s inter-service transfer ceremony into the U.S. Space Force at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., Jan. 25, 2022. Gomme became one of the first 50 inter-service transfers to join the United States Space Force. The Space Force, working with the Army, Navy and Marine Corps, has selected only 670 active-duty service members and 259 civilians to transfer into the Space Force during fiscal year 2022.
