JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, Washington, D.C. - U.S. Air Force Capt. Josef Hartzel, senior communication watch officer for the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon, discusses leader communication challenges during the Flight Leadership Orientation Course at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., March 5, 2024. The participants discussed the implementation of “five times-five ways,” a concept which highlights the importance of communicating a message using multiple methods so the whole team can more effectively grasp the mission. Twenty military and civilian leaders from the Air Force, Army, and Space Force participated in the orientation course, which prepares leaders for a successful tour on JBAB.
