Military & Family Readiness Center serves the JBAB community

By Jason Treffry Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Public Affairs

Maintaining mission readiness requires the ability to adapt to the unique demands of military life. The Military & Family Readiness Center provides targeted support and services to the JBAB community designed to aid, educate and navigate life on and off duty.

Open to all service members, Department of Defense civilians, retirees and their dependents, the MFRC provides knowledge to help individuals and families manage the stressors of daily life. MFRC flight chief Eileen Seeley says her team is dedicated to providing relevant information to foster resiliency and promote mission readiness.

“We provide quality of life programs and services that help our service members and their families with everyday challenges that they may face,” said Seeley. “The community relies on these services to help them navigate the military lifestyle.”

A few of the programs available include Personal Financial Readiness, Transition Assistance and the Exceptional Family Member Program. Other services include voting assistance, back-to-school supply fundraisers and much more. In addition to the continuously expanding resources available, the MFRC is leveraging partnerships with dependable organizations in the local community.

“We partner with a lot of outside agencies, including the DC Chamber of Commerce, Veterans Affairs, Department of Labor, Small Business Administration and others who complement and enhance the programs we offer,” said Seeley. “This makes it easier on the community when they can get the services right here on base.”

The MFRC team invites anyone to walk in or call, because as Seeley says, “It’s not only our mission to help, it’s our passion.”
