The current Health Protection Condition (HPCON) on JBAB is ALPHA. The base has modified precautions throughout the base to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19. COVID-19 Testing for Members Seeing Exemption

This testing is accomplished at the unit level.

Isolation and Quarantine

Test positive, regardless of vaccination status:
Stay home for 5 days and isolate from others from the day your symptoms started (day 0) or the day you tested if asymptomatic (day 0). If you had no symptoms when you initially tested positive and then develop symptoms within 10 days of testing, the isolation clock restarts at day 0 on the day of symptom onset.

You may end isolation after day 5 if:
  • You are fever-free for 24 hours (without use of fever-reducing medication)
  • Your symptoms are improving.
  • Wear a well-fitting mask for an additional 5 full days when around others at home, work, or in public once out of isolation.
Confirmed or suspected exposure to COVID-19:
Per CDC guidance as of 11 Aug, 2022, quarantine of exposed persons is NO LONGER recommended, regardless of vaccination status. High levels of immunity and availability of effective COVID-19 prevention and management tools have reduced the risk of medically significant illness and death. Persons who have had recent confirmed or suspected exposure to an infected person should continue to wear a mask for 10 days around others when indoors in public and should get tested at least 5 days after the exposure (or sooner if symptoms develop).

Isolation guidance for positive cases is unchanged.

A close contact is someone who was less than 6 feet away from an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinical diagnosis) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. For example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes. People who are exposed to someone with COVID-19 after they completed at least 5 days of isolation are not considered close contacts.
