JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, Washington, D.C. - U.S. Air Force Col. Ryan A.F. Crowley, left, commander of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and the 11th Wing, receives a crook from Lt. Col. Meoshia Wilson, outgoing senior chaplain of the 11th WG, during a ceremony June 23, 2025. Wilson served as the senior chaplain on JBAB, leading the spiritual fitness of more than 17,000 military personnel, civilian employees and military family members. Used since ancient times, the crook represents the shepherd's staff used to guide those drifting away back to safety, a task frequently asked of chaplains. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
