Civil engineers from the 11th and 316th Civil Engineer Squadrons came together to form a team that will represent Air Force District of Washington at Readiness Challenge IX, a competition aimed to test Air Force Civil Engineers’ contingency capabilities. The EALS is a rapidly installed runway lighting system that supports flying operations during periods of reduced visibility on contingency airfields, and the installation of the system is one of the many potential competition events at the Readiness Challenge.
