USAF Band, Honor Guard honor 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain
September 19, 2025 — The U.S. Air Force Band performs the national anthem during an 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain ceremony at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Va., Sep. 15, 2025. Members of the Royal Air Force and USAF held an unveiling of a plaque dedicated to the Battle of Britain which lasted from July 10 to Oct. 31, 1940, during World War II. The Band honors, inspires and connects with communities all over the world, reaching over six million listeners at over five thousand live and televised performances each year. JBAB releases mussels to aid Potomac River
September 2, 2025 — Members from the 11th Civil Engineer Squadron released buckets of young mussels into the Potomac River at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., Aug. 22, 2025. The 11th CES partnered with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Anacostia Watershed Society to release the mussels, which help clean the water by filtering excess nutrient pollutants. Located at the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers, which empty into the Chesapeake Bay watershed, JBAB provides an ideal location for the release initiative.
