Four intelligence squadron leaders assume command

U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonels Chad Polumbo, Amy Natalani, Kathryn Kenan, and Joseph Mellone took command of the 2nd and 15th Intelligence Squadrons and 5th and 6th Intelligence Support Squadrons, respectively, during two assumption of command ceremonies at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, July 29 and Aug. 8, 2025. The 2nd Intelligence Squadron mission is to synchronize and deliver regional expertise, strategic engagement, intelligence capabilities, collection, and operations; provide an enhanced counterintelligence posture. The 5th Intelligence Squadron’s mission is to deliver reliant, interoperable and secure architectures and support capabilities supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency and service warfighting networks, applications and training. The 6th Intelligence Support Squadron is charged to leverage and integrate joint and service targeting, planning and collection management, integrate intelligence community and DOD strategic intelligence expertise, and promote force development. The 15th Intelligence Support Squadron is responsible for synchronizing DIA strategic intelligence and regionally-aligned Air Force centers with regionally-aligned air operations centers and analysis and exploitation teams. The four squadrons are aligned under the newly established 77th Intelligence Wing, commanded by U.S. Air Force Col. Ryan L. O’Neal.
